Niel, I know this is nearly a year later, but I have recently saw this film and am so enveloped and sucked in its gravitational pull, I'm in love--and in love is putting it at the least!! I was hoping to e-mail you, but don't see a contact for you, I'd like to (nerd alert) dicuss linguistics with you. I totally agree – it was awesome! While it’s true that objectively the plot has some shaky places, the whole movie is presented so convincingly and so realistically that I was completely and utterly engrossed. I think that walking out of District 9 I was more tired than at any other time this year, it was that gripping.
