Paradoxes!

timeparadox

My head hurts. Yes, yes it does. Look at the picture above! So mind bogglingly “urgh” inducing craziness. I love these things as my mind always try to wonder how these paradoxes work. Somehow, I want to find the start or the end, or I just want to keep going to see how far my brain power takes me.

Here is some more crazy paradoxes I’ve could think of. Please, if you’ve got some more add them!

  • Fear of fears
  • Time travel to stop time travelling
  • Talk about language using language
  • Being sure about being unsure

Hollywood is escpecially fond of time travel. It’s probably the ultimate paradox “brain-numbing” ploy out there. Yes, yes, you get different time theories that can easily explain the movie, but most movies don’t explain it! Often leading to the average movie-goer throwing a blind eye towards the paradoxes. Every time such a lame time travelling paradox arises I quickly point it out to my family and friends, often to blank stares of “just watch the movie FFS”. It is a total pet-hate of mine.

By the way, I would love to one day meet someone having a fear of fears. Anyone know such a person? They’d be a constant nervous wreck. Some more Wikipedia paradoxes. My favourite one is the intentionally left blank page.

I LOVE time paradoxes. I spend hours going over it in my head.

You have to forgive them sometimes though. Like Terminator. That’s just awesome wrapped in another layer of awesome so you can’t hold it against them ;)

Read Godel Escher Bach – the whole book revolves around these weird loops caused by self-referential systems. Very interesting!
